The Wishlist

They say that “boats are a a hole in the water you throw money into.” They are indubitably correct. No matter how many modifications, repairs, replacements, or upgrades you’ve made there are always more that you want to, or in some cases have to, make. So, in part for my own amusement, and in part because I’m hoping some charitable and independently wealthy individual decides they’d like to support our addiction, I’ve decided to list some of our wishlist items here.

  1. Forespar Carbon/Aluminum 15-27′ Wisker Pole (UTS-UTR Socket Trigger)
  2. Victron BMV 602 Battery Monitor
  3. Air Line R260XL Diving Compressor
  4. ICOM IC-M700Pro Single Side Band Receiver
  5. New Doyle UPS cruising spinnaker. Since our first one got washed overboard :-(
  6. Wind Vane Self Steering Gear
We have an electronic autopilot, but it’s nice to have something to doesn’t run off the batteries.
  7. New Cushions
Our current cushions seem beautiful at first glance, but upon closer inspection there are a lot of rips, scuffs, and missing buttons. Additionally while leather looks great, it’s not the best for sitting on in shorts in the tropics.
  8. New Teak Deck
We love our teak deck, and it probably has a few years left in it, but there are enough cracks, bad seams, and missing screw covers that it probably leaks a bit leaks like a sieve, and one day it will need to be replaced desperately needs to be fixed or better yet replaced.
  9. New Sail Covers
  10. New Sails
Our jib is really in need of replacement, but while I’m wishing, why not wish for all three.
  11. Sun Cover for our Dinghy
